We Promote The Following SDGs<\/p>\n

SDG1: No Poverty:<\/strong> First of all, ICAD is a registered enterprise, recruiting up to 12 young persons permanently. We also have have a stock of about 80 volunteers who benefits from us. Since Agriculture alone supports about 79% of the population, we promote agriculture in various ways, including providing free organic manure to farmers during farming seasons. We also provide training on agric-techs, after each discovery.<\/p>\n

SDG 4:<\/strong> Quality Education:<\/strong> We conducted a study in 2017 and realized that in Dschang, Cameroon, 65% of the daily expenditures of students goes on photocopies. Meanwhile, most students are from poor homes. Most often, less privilege students end up not photocopying handouts, or are forced to copy handouts manually, which is a very challenging task. To curb this, we carry out the P4P, which entails trading waste plastics with photocopies. So students literally pays photocopies with waste plastic bottles. This initiative is to assist the less privilege students, while obtaining raw materials (inputs) for our recycling.\u00a0<\/p>\n

SDGs 11 & 13: Sustainable Cities and Communities and Climate Action:<\/strong> As seen in the objectives of the CITE VERTE Project, our actions are all geared towards the promotion of SDG 13 (Climate Action) and in the process, we are also obliged to do SDG 11. We are one of the startups in Dschang, working to reduce GhGs (through our biogas project, and the mini-landfills). We also plant trees on a regular basis (10 000 in 2 years, Following our action plan).<\/p>\n

Green Growth<\/strong><\/p>\n

When solid waste management (SWM) is well planned and implemented, it can be a key driving force for boosting Green Growth. Green Growth is a mechanism to achieve sustainable development and promote economic growth, poverty reduction, improved well-being, social inclusion, job creation, and innovation through a more sustainable use of natural resources. Sound SWM can create jobs and contribute to making urban centers attractive, more efficient, and more resilient to the effects of climate change. Successful SWM contributes to building sustainable, green, and competitive cities\u2014a necessary path toward viable Green Growth.<\/p>\n
